Inspection Solutions for High-Loft Home Textile and Bedding Products

High-loft home textile products such as down quilts, pillows and cotton quilt cores have thick, unevenly dense fiber layers. Broken needles and other metal contaminants can enter the filling and settle in inner layers whose positions are hard to predict. Metal contamination risks exist in sewing, filling and packing, so manufacturers usually set up inspection at the finished or semi-finished stage, choosing the method based on product weight and thickness.

When selecting equipment, pay attention to the aperture height and width of the detection channel, the load capacity of the conveyor belt, and the actual sensitivity at different filling thicknesses. For highly lofted products, compressed conveying or segmented inspection can help keep the inspected item close to the effective zone of the detection coil while avoiding false alarms caused by piled filling. The equipment should indicate and distinguish ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel metals.

For process layout, place inspection after filling or stuffing and before outer packaging, so that rejected products can be located and reworked. In daily use, verify sensitivity periodically with standard test pieces, record the results, and clean and maintain the conveyor belt and the area around the coil. Manufacturers can discuss custom channel sizes and rejection methods with equipment suppliers based on their product structure and capacity.
